If all 4 are good to go, PROCEED!
METRO Prop A:
ENHANCE MOBILITY AND EASE TRAFFIC CONGESTION WITHIN METRO'S TERRITORY AND SERVICE AREA…APPROVAL OF SUCH PLAN AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF A PHASE III OF METRO'S RAIL SYSTEM FOR PURPOSES OF THE CITY CHARTER OF THE CITY OF HOUSTON, AND DEDICATION OF UP TO 25% OF METRO'S SALES AND USE TAX REVENUES THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2040, TO STREET IMPROVEMENTS, MOBILITY PROJECTS AND OTHER FACILITIES AND SERVICES, AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW
Gives Metro the ability to borrow up to $3.5 billion to shift Houston to being a city not so largely dependent on vehicle commuting and it gives Metro the green light to move forward with three new light rail lines, expanding our busing system, and adding HOV lanes. This would also improve passageways in the ship channel to allow for better ship transit in the Port of Houston.
Your more conservative Mayoral candiates swing to the Against side of the proposition, more liberal, and current Mayor Turner, are for it.
